Burnham teenager secures place at prestigious performing arts academy

-

A Burnham-On-Sea teenager is celebrating after securing a place at a prestigious performing arts academy.

Hannah Murdoch, 15, who attends King Alfred School Academy in Highbridge, has been offered a place at Emil Dale Academy in Hitchin, Hertfordshire.

She recently auditioned for the Musical Theatre diploma, a course that attracts 3,000 applicants with only 43 places available — and she was successful in gaining a place.

Hannah has had a love of musical theatre for many years, participating in Highbridge arts festivals and local shows at the Princess Theatre.

She is a member of local performance groups Re Act Theatre school and Lisa Jane School of Dance.

Hannah says she is “over the moon” with the news and will begin her training in September 2019.

“I really enjoyed my audition but wasn’t sure whether I would be offered a place or not,” she told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“However, about a week later, I received a black box with a shiny silver letter in it. It said I had been successful in gaining a place on their two-year Triple Threat Musical Theatre Course.”

“When I found out, I couldn’t believe it! Performing is my biggest passion and to have the opportunity to train at Emil Dale Academy is a dream come true. I’m so excited to start there next September!”

She would like to hear from anyone who would be interested in sponsoring her to help fund her place or anyone who would like her to sing at an event or function. Get in contact via Burnham-On-Sea.com here.
