Winner Mark Wills, pictured here with the second and third placed finishers, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The conditions were great today – the weather was calm and mild with light winds. There was also plenty of support from residents all the way along the course.”
The starting gun was fired at 11am at Burnham’s BASC Ground and the runners wended their way along Love Lane and Queens Drive, before turning along the A38 towards Brent Knoll and then through East Brent, Lympsham, Wick Road and Red Road, before returning to Burnham along Berrow Road.
Organiser Brian Beale, from Burnham Harriers, who oversaw Sunday’s run, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s been another successful event, with 160 men and 77 ladies taking part. There were a number of late entries which boosted the numbers. We thank everyone who took part and helped to marshall and organise it for their support, plus our sponsors M5 Glass and Proper Job.”
Over 30 youngsters also took part in a fun run during the event, as covered here.
