Over 170 runners completed Burnham-On-Sea’s annual Half Marathon on Sunday (October 4th) amid ideal running conditions.
Winner Josh Davis, 24, from Nailsea, pictured in the centre below, crossed the finishing line in a fast time of 1:14:56 and said he was “really happy” with his time, adding that the calm, mild weather had provided great conditions.
Second in a time of 1:17:05 was Robert Farley and third was Jason Scott in a time of 1:17:31 – all three are pictured below. See the Burnham-On-Sea Half Marathon results page.
Crowds of spectators cheered on the runners at the start and finish of Sunday’s race, held at the BASC Ground.
Organiser Brian Beale from Burnham Harriers Club told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are really pleased with how it went – we had over 170 finishers and are really pleased with the turnout. It was a great run and we’ve had lots of positive feedback.”
The runners headed along Love Lane and Queen’s Drive, before turning along the A38 towards Brent Knoll and then on to East Brent, Lympsham, Wick Road and Red Road, before returning to Burnham.
A group of over 20 young runners also took part in a successful fun run around the BASC Ground during the event, which was won by Rafe Salvador. See the complete Burnham-On-Sea Fun Run results.
