Burnham-On-Sea residents woke up to a covering of hail on Wednesday morning (January 14th).
Pedestrians and motorists were advised to take extra care by police after local streets and pavements turned white at around 7.45am, as pictured here.
The hail stones melted away later in the morning, but it was Burnham’s first proper taste of winter so far after a mild few months so far.
Forecasters predict more wintry weather is due to return over the coming days in between several storms coming in from the Atlantic.
