Cash windfalls for Burnham-On-Sea groups and charities
Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge comunity groups are among those who have received cash windfalls from Sedgemoor District Council’s grants programme, it was announced this week.
The council said on Wednesday it had given out £62,270.79 to community organisations during 2005.
Spokeswoman Claire Faun told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We receive grant applications from a wide range of community groups throughout the year, and a council panel meets every six or so weeks to decide which receive the funds. This year, we’ve handed out more than £62,000 to worthy causes.”
