Representatives from more than a dozen Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge groups received grant cheques from the town council on Monday evening (February 2nd).
The town’s Mayor, Peter Burridge-Clayton, and Cllr Danny Titcombe, Chairman of the council’s Policy and Finance Committee, handed over £2,250 towards the work of thirteen groups during an annual ceremony.
The representatives are pictured below receiving their cheques. Groups who were unable to attend the ceremony include Sedgemoor Vintage Club (£150), Vale of Avalon Vintage Vehicle Run (£400) and Burnham Sea Cadets (£100).

Chris Robertson received £100 for Burnham Neighbourhood Watch
John Lovett received £100 for Burnham Disabled Swimming Club
Peter Gaylard received £100 for the BASC Ground’s changing rooms
Hazel Braund received £250 for Burnham and Highbridge Choral Society
Trudy Thatcher received £100 for Highbridge Festival of the Arts
John Hodgson received £250 for the Burnham Carnival Association
Sandy Ballantyne received £150 on behalf of the BEES drama group
Martin Rogers received £200 for Burnham Swim and Sports Academy’s new junior triathlon academy
