Anger over graffiti scrawled over sea wall in Burnham-On-Sea

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s Mayor has this week hit out at vandals who have scrawled graffiti over part of the town’s sea wall.

Steam cleaning equipment may have to be used to remove the writing, which has been daubed over the wall on the North Esplanade and on a wall at nearby Allandale Road.

Cllr Michael Clarke told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It is very disappointing that a small minority of people would do this.”

“It costs money to remove graffiti like this, meaning that other council services may not receive as much financial support as a result.”

The bizarre message – which states “NYD then 40 day countdown to Valentines Day, starting just? religious war, Easter” – was removed on Tuesday afternoon by Sedgemoor District Council.
