Sedgemoor District Council has removed graffiti scrawled over Burnham-On-Sea’s sea wall this week.
A bizarre message, simply stating “Flat Earth”, was daubed in two-metre tall letters over part of the wall on the North Esplanade earlier this week.
The council’s Clean Surroundings Team has been busy getting the lettering removed.
A council spokeswoman said: “The wall is an Environment Agency flood defence asset, so they own it. However, upon the wall, there is a square which is a navigation aid which SDC (as port authority) is responsible for maintaining, therefore we are responsible for anything on the surface, but not the structure itself.”
