A Burnham-On-Sea teenager has finished runner-up in the Somerset Ladies County Golf Championships.
Charlotte Humphries, 18, a four handicap player from Burnham and Berrow Golf Club, won the Silver Plate after playing superbly at the three-day golf tournament held at Weston Super Mare Golf Club.
The event – which began on Friday – is a 36-hole qualifying competition with the top 16 going through to four rounds of matchplay competition.
On route to the final, Charlotte (18) beat Heather Wilbur Kerr from Mendip Spring and Jade Cope from Weston before setting up a semi final match against British University Champion and also Burnham and Berrow Club member Becky Gibbs.
Both Charlotte and Becky have been named in the County Team to play in the South West County Finals at Woodbury Park, Exeter.
