Controversial plans to build eight new homes in Burnham-On-Sea have been unveiled this week.
Coln Residential Ltd is seeking to demolish a bungalow in Golf Links Road and build the new development with a new access road on the 3,325 square metres of land behind.
Planners previously gave outline planning permission for nine homes at the site in November 2012, despite a dozen objections from residents, as we reported here.
The previous applicant – a Burnham town councillor – has since sold the land to the development company Coln Residential.
The new application covers the construction of six three-bed homes and two larger homes with four or more bedrooms. There is also provision for 20 car parking spaces in the development.
“Following market analysis Coln Residential has decided to change the mix and type of proposed dwellings,” said a spokesman. “The principles of the proposals were agreed in a pre-planning meeting as acceptable by Sedggemoor’s planning officer, subject to detailed scrutiny.”
Sedgemoor District Council’s Planning Department is inviting comments on the application – number 11/13/00126 – up until December 27th.
