A new lettings business has opened in Burnham-On-Sea town centre this Spring following a £250,000 investment.

Darren Clapp has opened the new Burnham branch of Glentworth Lettings in College Street after nearly 20 years of business in Weston.

“We are a family-run, specialist independent letting and property management company offering a friendly and professional service with years of experience in lettings and management of property throughout the UK,” says Darren.

“We have moved to Burnham due to the negativity in the local estate agent market over recent months,” he adds. “Burnham is a lovely town that needs confidence in the property market.”

“We are a one-stop shop for property lettings, whether it’s property management, maintenance, lettings, legals or accounts.”

He adds that the firm also plans to open in Bridgwater this year, followed by Taunton and Portishead.

The firm has taken on three new staff in Burnham and further positions are likely to be available.

Darren is ARLA regulated by the lettings agency industry body and ensures legality and regulations are adhered to through the business. Mrs Alison Lees in the Glenworth Lettings legal representative who has been with the firm 10 years.

“With our experience solely in lettings we have developed comprehensive packages and offer a wide range of services that accommodate landlords whether they are experienced in lettings, new to this industry or even reside overseas.”

“We have a dedicated team providing a bespoke and personal service to landlords. If a landlord has multiple properties then say goodbye to the stress and hassle of having to deal with numerous agents – we have the facilities to manage all of your properties under one roof.”

In the same Burnham premises, Darren has also opened an office for Keystone Property Reports (KPR), who are property inspection software specialists.

KPR specialise in a range of bespoke reports, from simple property condition reports to legality compliance reports. Their revolutionary software is widely used by letting agents, NHS property managers, and councils.

“During the College Street refurbishment, our renovation works contractor, Glentworth Maintenance, uncovered two vintage Wills Woodbine Cigarette boxes, (believed to be dating from around 1870) in the ceiling of the premises.”

“The boxes have been professionally mounted and they are now proudly hang on the wall of the very room that it is dedicated to. The ‘Wills Room’ is a studio used for online training and demo purposes for KPR software. By coincidence, during the same week, a box of Wills Woodbine Cigarettes was found in the walls of Buckingham Palace during their 10-year £369m refurbishment!”

Darren adds: “We are very proud of our Burnham-On-Sea office. It is a great town and the locals have been very welcoming. Our findings in the ceiling of the property during the refurbishment was a bonus! It makes a great feature and focal point.”
