A new courtyard was unveiled at a Burnham-On-Sea care home on Wednesday (December 18th) in memory of a young staff member who died earlier this year.
23 year-old Georgia Lavender passed away with diabetes in September, as we reported here.
Georgia worked as a carer at Burnham Nursing and Residential Centre in Oxford Street, and staff were keen to remember her in a special, permanent way.
“Members of the home decided to decorate and dedicate our courtyard in her memory,” said the centre’s Roxanne Morison. “Georgia was a really well known local girl.”
Georgia’s parents and other members of her family attended the opening of the courtyard – named ‘The Lavender Garden’ – on Wednesday, alongside staff and residents.
Friends and family are welcome to come and visit the The Lavender Garden to celebrate Georgia’s life.
