A Burnham-On-Sea church was filled with mourners on Monday afternoon (January 25th) when the funeral took place of George Lawson, the 20-year-old who was murdered in the town on Christmas Eve.
The service took place at St Andrew’s Church and was packed with friends and family of George.
One of those at the service told Burnham-On-Sea.com it had been a “very emotional afternoon – a beautiful service”.
Murder suspect Adam Lapthorne appeared at Exeter Crown Court earlier this month accused of the murder of George. He was remanded in custody until a further hearing on February 22nd.
A police officer found the body of Mr Lawson lying on a bed in a flat in Abingdon Street above the Second Image tattoo shop shortly after 9am on Christmas Eve.
