A long-running musical instruments shop in Burnham-On-Sea has begun its closing down sale after its owner decided to shut his store for good.
Burnham-On-Sea.com first reported last year how GC Music, in Cross Street, had suffered its worst-ever Christmas sales in the wintry weather and had also been hit by the online shopping boom.
Graham Cook, pictured, who has been running GC Music for 18 years, says he has received many good wishes since making his decision.
“We’ve received a huge amount of support over the past three weeks and the closing sale is going well, but sadly we won’t be reconsidering the decision to close.”
“The recent bad weather really was the final straw for sales, which have been hit hard by supermarkets, charity shops and online shopping.”
While GC Music will be shutting down by the Spring, GC Sound and Lighting, which hires out and installs lighting and PA systems, will continue to trade.
