Mayoress waves off Burnham’s Gateway Club on Minehead break

-

Over 30 members of Burnham-On-Sea’s Gateway Club set off for a week’s holiday in Minehead on Monday (June 3rd).

The group of adults, who all have learning disabilities, were waved off by Burnham’s Mayoress, Arlene Cox, and Cllr Neville Jones as they took a coach from Burnham to Butlins.

Club leader Barbara Thorogood told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The group will enjoy a busy five day break, giving their carers a rest. A number of fun activities are planned over the week.”

The holiday is funded by voluntary donations and fundraising events throughout the year.

The club – which has been running for over 30 years – provides social activities for local adults with learning disabilities.
