Fire crews called to West Huntspill home in overnight gas leak scare

-

Fire crews were called to a home in West Huntspill during the early hours of today (Wednesday) after a gas leak scare.

Three fire crews from Burnham-On-Sea and Bridgwater were called to Sealeys Close in West Huntspill at 12.35am.

“One resident was removed from the property for safety and crews then isolated the gas supply,” said a spokesman.

“We used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, one covering jet and a gas detection monitor to ascertain levels of gas within the property.”

“The property was checked with a gas detector and no readings were detected. The property was ventilated and the leakage was due to a broken control on the gas fire.”
