Gas cylinder explosion at Brean holiday park leaves one injured

-

A woman suffered leg injuries when a gas cylinder exploded at a Brean holiday park on Bank Holiday Monday.

Emergency services were called to Northam Farm Caravan and Camping Park in the village at 10am.

Two fire crews from Burnham-On-Sea were joined by an ambulance crew at the scene.

“A person had been injured in an explosion involving a gas cylinder,” a fire service spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“A portable cooker had exploded whilst in use, causing an injury to a lady’s leg. The lady was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment.”

“No other damage was caused by the explosion – the cooker had been located outside at the time and it was believed the gas canister had been incorrectly fitted into the cooker.”
