TV pop star Gareth Gates headlined a concert at a holiday park in Brean on Saturday night (May 18th).
The singer, who shot to fame during ITV’s Pop Idol in 2002, performed at Brean’s Holiday Resort Unity during a concert for the start of the summer tourist season.
A spokesman for the park told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Gareth was a big hit with the big crowd of holidaymakers who watched him. He showed what a powerful singer and performer he is.”
Gareth Gates first found fame as runner up in the inaugural series of Pop Idol. He went on to have four number one hit singles and has sold more than three million records.
More recently, he has been treading the boards and has appeared in a series of musicals including Joseph and the Amazing Techicolour, Dreamcoat, Les Miserables and Legally Blonde. He is still a familiar face on TV, appearing on a number of TV shows including ITV’s Dancing on Ice.
