Pupils at East Huntspill Primary School have won a competition organised by Sanders Garden World and Cossey Produce.
The school’s gardening club won a compost bin and a fruit and vegetable box after entering a competition organised by the garden centre and the fruit and vegetable box delivery service.
Angela Fey, Organiser of East Huntspill Primary School’s gardening club, explained: “We are thrilled that our entry was chosen. The pupils are looking forward to learning how to make their own compost.”
“Once it’s ready the compost will be used to help maintain the school’s garden and vegetable patch.”
In October, 2011, Sanders Garden World invited schools that wanted a compost bin to apply by giving details of their project and why they deserved to receive the bin and produce.
Peter Burks, General Manager of the garden centre in Brent Knoll, said: “We are delighted to have been able to lend a helping hand to East Huntspill Primary School by giving them the bin to help with their gardening projects.”
