A well-known children’s TV presenter helped wildlife carers release a gannett from the top of Brean Down on Tuesday (June 28th).

Dominic Wood, one half of children’s TV duo Dick and Dom, was filming a new show in which he is helping Secret World’s wildlife rescue team.

“The underfed gannet was found in a field near Withy Road in East Huntspill two weeks ago after being blown off course and has been nursed back to good health with mackerel,” Secret World’s Sara Cowen told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

Dick and Dom – who are well known to younger TV viewers for programmes such as CBBC’s Dick and Dom’s Funny Business and Dick and Dom Go Wild, a nature series – have been filming at Secret World this week.

The bird was successfully released into the wild from the south side of Brean Down
