Gales whip up stormy sea conditions in Burnham-On-Sea

-

Gale force winds whipped up stormy conditions in Burnham-On-Sea on Saturday evening (November 2nd).

The Met Office issued a yellow warning as a deep area of low pressure tracked through the region, bringing a spell of very windy weather with gusts of up to 70mph.

Plumes of sea spray shot over the sea wall in several spots in Burnham and the Environment Agency closed the town’s flood gates at the jetty and Maddock’s Slade as a precaution.

The Met Office has warned that further rain, heavy at times, is expected on Sunday evening which could affect Burnham’s fireworks display. Burnham-On-Sea.com will have the latest during Sunday.
