A Burnham-On-Sea fruit and veg shop closed down on Friday after six months of business.
Fabulous Fruit and Veg opened in Burnham’s College Street last August, as we reported here.
“It is with a heavy heart that we have had to take the decision to close Fabulous Fruit and Veg,” said owners Debbie Gazzard and Mandy Shute.
“We have struggled to get the footfall in College Street and we could not see it improving in the next three months so we have taken the decision to close as of this evening.”
“We would like to thank our loyal customers for their patronage over the last few months. And who knows maybe we shall see you all again on the next venture, but definitely in the High Street this time.”
Burnham-On-Sea Chamber of Trade expressed its disappointment at the news, which comes after several closures.
“We are very concerned about the spate of closures in and around College Street,” said Vice Chairman Alex Turco. “The Chamber supports the Town Council’s plans to introduce extra signage into this part of the town to boost footfall, which is clearly needed as soon as possible.”
