Burnham-On-Sea group visits twinned German town of Fritzlar

-

A group of residents from Burnham-On-Sea’s twinning group have just returned from a visit to Burnham’s German twinned town.

The delegation of 11 residents from Burnham and Highbridge travelled to Fritzlar on an official visit, led by Chairman Chris Metcalfe.

Gabriele Ulrich, the Lady in charge of the Fritzlar Partnership, and other hosts gave an official welcome to the guests during a reception held at the town’s museum.

“The schedule included sightseeing tours to places in Northern Hesse and Thüringen and especially to the Grenzlandmuseum at the former German border. Friends from Fritzlar, Borken, Gudensberg also came to the farewell party,” the group’s Jenny Golding told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

Fritzlar is a small German town with a population of 15,000 in the Schwalm-Eder district in northern Hesse, about 100 miles north of Frankfurt.
