Tree unveiled to mark 25th year of Burnham’s twinning with Fritzlar

-

A new tree has this week been unveiled to mark the 25th anniversary of Burnham-On-Sea being twinned with Fritzlar in Germany.

A group of 30 visitors from the German town, who are in Burnham this week, watched the tree and plaque unveiling in the Manor Gardens on Wednesday (April 16th), as pictured here.

The ceremony was led by Burnham and Highbridge Mayor Martin Cox and Sedgemoor District Council’s Chairman Peter Downing, alongside members of Burnham and Highbridge’s Fritzlar Twinning Society.

Brian Milloy, Deputy Chairman of the society, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The new oak tree is a great symbol of the warm friendship that has grown between our two towns over the past 25 years.”
