Car parking charges in Burnham-On-Sea are to be waived during the run-up to Christmas in a bid to encourage more shoppers into the town.
Town Centre Manager Anne-Marie Spalding confirmed on Monday (October 23rd) that car parking would be free on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the month of December.
She added that Sedgemoor District Council hopes the scheme will help traders in the town and added that posters for retailers to display in their windows to raise awareness of the offer will soon be available.
Members of Burnham-On-Sea’s Chamber of Trade and Commerce warmly welcomed the scheme this week, saying it would increase the number of visitors to the town’s shops over the busy Christmas period.
