Police have this week issued an appeal for help in identifying this man as part of their investigation into an attempted fraud offence in Highbridge.
It follows an incident where a man entered Highbridge’s Natwest Bank in Huntspill Road and attempted to cash a fraudulent cheque to the value of £2,500.
No money exchanged hands thanks to a keen-eyed staff member, but police are keen to identify the man shown in these CCTV photos.
“A man presented a fraudulent photo card driving licence as identification but was unsuccessful due to the quick actions of the cashier,” a police spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“We are now trying to identify the man shown in these CCTV photos.”
The man in the photos is white with balding hair and was wearing a grey coloured jacket with a light coloured shirt underneath.
The photos have just been released this week, but the incident occurred on December 15th, 2011.
Anyone with information about the man’s identity is asked by police to contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting case reference EM061-12.
