Former staff from MoD site at Royal Ordnance Factory Bridgwater site are sought

-

Staff form the former MoD site at Royal Ordnance Factory (ROF) Bridgwater near Burnham-On-Sea are being invited to a special gathering to share memories of the site’s history.

To remember ROF Bridgwater, Sedgemoor District Council and the South West Heritage Trust are inviting former staff to help the site’s legacy lives on.

The South West Heritage Trust is looking to create a living historical record of what life was like working in an industry that played a vital role in the manufacturing of defence materials during the Second World War.

The project aims to gather as much information as possible to create a historical record of what life was like for those who lived and worked in this important local industry. They are actively looking for photos and other memorabilia.

The session will be held at the 37 Sports & Social Club in Woolavington Road, Puriton on Saturday, 9th November from 10am-1pm, and Wednesday 13th November form 1-4pm. Call 01823 278 805, click here, or email info@swheritage.org.uk for details.

Vistors will also hear from Gravity, the new owners of the site, about their plans.
