Fundraising football match to be held for fire-hit Burnham family

-

A football match is to be held today (Saturday) to raise funds for a Burnham-On-Sea family recovering from a huge fire that destroyed their home.

The home in Highbridge Road was completely gutted during the blaze on July 27th when the flames spread quickly.

Rosie Clements, her husband Paul, and their three children, Lily-Rose, Shae and Ruby, lost their home, pet dog and pet bearded dragon in the fire.

The football game is being organised by organiser Sam Collard, who told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “A group of friends and I are hosting a charity match to raise money for the Clements family as they sadly lost their home in a fire.”

“We are all close friends with the son Shae, and we want to give him some good memories in this tough time he is going through.”

“Shae will be captaining one team and I will captain the other and both squads will be made up of Shae’s closest friends.”

The match will be played on 17th September, with a kick-off at 6.30pm, at the King Alfred School Astro Turf.
