Burnham United FC’s plans for clubhouse expansion are approved

-

Burnham United Football Club’s plans for a modern new clubhouse have been given the go-ahead by Sedgemoor District Council this week.

The side is currently struggling on the pitch with a young squad, however Chairman Matt Counsell, pictured, is hoping that this week’s milestone will lead to an improved future for the club.

He welcomed the news, saying this week: “It is great news and exciting times for the club.”

The new clubhouse in Cassis Close, Burnham will be used by the senior and junior teams and will include changing rooms and showers for both home and away sides, plus a skittle alley and bar area.

The club hope to have the new facilities ready for the start of the 2016-2017 season, with the timescales currently being planned.
