Burnham-On-Sea holding its first Food and Drink Festival today

Food and drink producers from across the south west will be heading to Burnham-On-Sea today (Saturday, September 29th) for the town’s first ever Food and Drink Festival.

Over 40 stallholders and 14 fringe festival events will be in the Baptist Hall in College Street and Burnham’s Princess Theatre in addition to displays in shops and venues across the town from 10am-5pm.

There will also be a number of food demonstrations in the Baptist Hall in Burnham’s College Street. They include: 11am Sugarcraft Skills with Wendy Gilpin, 12pm Chelsea Buns with Victoria Knowles-Lacks, 1pm Vegetable growing with Charles Dowding, who has been growing organic vegetables commercially for thirty years, 2pm Sugarcraft Skills with Wendy Gilpin, and 3pm fresh pasta from scratch in 30 minutes with local cook and councillor Joe Leach!

There will also be displays and demonstrations by Burnham’s traders, restaurants and shops with displays set up in numerous shops across the town.

During the day, a ‘Great Burnham Bake Off’ cake making contest will also be held in the Baptist Hall at 2pm. The full list of events is available here.
