Burnham-On-Sea town centre was full of amazing tastes and flavours on Saturday (October 27th) when the town’s food festival, known as ‘Eat: Burnham’, returned for a 13th time.

Despite a bitterly cold day, crowds of people filled Burnham’s town centre to visit the 145 food and drink retailers lining the streets and soak up the atmosphere.

Now in its sixth year, the award-winning event also offered a wide variety of free entertainment and cooking demonstrations.

Co-organiser Bev Milner Simonds told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We’re really pleased with how the 13th festival went. It was really busy from 9am when the festival opened through until 3pm when the heavy rain arrived.”

“We still had a great turnout of visitors despite the biting cold wind – people in Burnham are hardy and wrapped up and turned out as usual, although I think the ice cream sales were down!”

“A special big thanks goes to the Eat:Burnham crew who worked so hard today: Kayleigh, Tom, Sheridan, Cathy, Becky and Matt.”

Awards were presented to several of the top producers at the festival during the day.

“The people’s choice award was presented to Quantock Steamers and the sponsor’s choice went to Necessity, whose owner Mike was previously a bursary award winner two years ago and has just progressed his business to full-time this week.”
