The organisers of Burnham-On-Sea’s Food and Drink Festival are celebrating after scoping the top award at the region’s premier food and drink awards.
eat:Burnham has won the award for ‘Best Food and Farmers Market’ at the Western Daily Press Food and Farming Awards, beating off stiff competition from Frome Independent and Stroud Farmers’ Market.
Collecting the award, Bev Milner Simonds and Sarah Milner Simonds said they are delighted with the win.
Bev said: “We run our festivals for the good of the producers and the towns that host us, this award is testament to creativity, quality and determination of our producers.”
“They come together on festival day to showcase produce of the highest quality in great settings like Burnham-On-Sea.”
“We are very proud of the festivals we have created and hope that by initiatives like our single use plastic free status and sustainability goals mean we are making a positive impact with locally focused festivals across the region.”
eat:Burnham will be held on Saturday 27th October from 9am to 4pm in the town centre.
