Burnham-On-Sea’s annual FolkFest attracted large crowds of music fans over the weekend with more than 80 acts performing at venues across the town.
The seventh annual Folkfest came to a close this evening (Sunday) with the traditional Folk In The Park concert in the town’s Manor Gardens.
The live music on Sunday featured Ryan Hawkings, Leah Goldie, Stompin’ Dave Allen, The Claque and Three Sheets T’wind. Leah gained her place in the line-up after winning Burnham’s Acoustic Battle of the Bands in June.
On Saturday, dozens of free musical acts and dance groups performed in seven pubs and clubs across the town centre, each of which was well supported.
The dance acts included the Coastal Cloggers, Tiger Feet Appalachian and the Chalice Morris Dancers plus craft stalls, children’s entertainers and workshops.
A Folkfest spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com the event had been “another great success” and he thanked all those who had supported and performed at the four-day event.
