Burnham-On-Sea’s Folkfest got a final farewell on Saturday (September 3rd) when a day-long music event was held in the town.
After a decade of musical fun and frolics, the final Folkfest was held last year but a special day-long music event was held in The Princess on Saturday to raise funds for Hillview Junior Carnival Club.
Headlined by rockers Leatherat, there were also performances by Little Thief plus long-standing Folkfest favourites Hedgepig, Daft Folk, Shades of Rock, Nick Elswood and a stripped-down version of Vermin.
Door proceeds went to Burnham’s Hillview Junior Carnival Club, with £400 raised on the day and £1,000 over this year’s two events – including one at Easter.
Departing Folkfest Chairman Dom Wills told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The weather was not great and that seems to have put off some people from coming, but we had a great event with some superb music to see out Folkfest.”
A new event, the all-new ‘BOSfest’ music festival, is set to make its debut in 2017.
