Film and music fans will be able to sing along to a special screening of a legendary rock classic in aid of the town’s FolkFest tonight (Monday, March 25th).
The organisers of Burnham’s FolkFest are presenting a one-off performance of Jesus Christ Superstar at Burnham’s Ritz Cinema.
Organiser Dom Wills says the screening will provide guaranteed great entertainment.
“This is a film of the recent West End hit, shot on its Live Arena tour in 2012, and it features comedian Tim Minchin as Judas, Spice Girl Mel C as Mary Magdalene, DJ Chris Moyles as King Herod and Ben Forster, winner of ITV’s Superstar competition, as Jesus,” he told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“As well as super performances, which have already won awards for Minchin and Mel C, the show boasts stunning images, as you’d expect from the director of the 25th Anniversary concert of Les Mis, and the set designer who staged the Diamond Jubilee concert in front of Buckingham Palace.”
Tickets are available in advance from the Ritz Cinema or may be delivered to your door by Dom (01278 783201) or Caroline (07709 955262). A £5-per-ticket donation to FolkFest is expected. Arrive from 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
