Burnham’s Folkfest to benefit from screening of Phantom of The Opera

-

A special screening of The Phantom Of The Opera at Burnham-On-Sea’s Ritz Cinema this evening (Monday) will raise money for the town’s Folkfest.

The film being screened at The Ritz in Victoria Street will be the full stage version of the show, filmed before a live audience at the Royal Albert Hall in 2011 to celebrate Phantom’s 25th anniversary.

“It stars Canadian singer Ramin Karimloo and Broadway star Sierra Boggess in the lead roles, the couple knowing the characters well as they’d recently played them onstage in London in the Phantom sequel Love Never Dies,” one of the organisers, Dom Wills, told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“The sets are sumptuous, the costumes exquisite and the songs are Lloyd Webber classics, while the finale features many of the original cast, including Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman.”

Tickets are available from the Ritz, from Sea Breeze on Victoria St, or from Dom on 07766-717-972.

Arrive 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Price of entry is a £5 donation to Burnham’s FolkFest autumn folk festival.
