Flooding prompts call to council for improved drainage from villagers

-

Residents living along a road in West Huntspill have called for improved drainage after further flooding during heavy rain on Tuesday (September 28th).

Homeowners in West Huntspill’s Church Road have called on Somerset County Council to do more to stop the roadside rhyne overflowing across the road.

It comes after a car driver who was unable to see the edge of the road due to flood water ended up in a ditch there last year, as reported here.

“We’ve had problems along here for several years and nothing seems to get done to resolve it – it is quite dangerous,” one resident told Burnham-On-Sea.com.  “The council needs to do better dredging or drainage work.”
