Somerset’s coastline was put on a Flood Watch by the Environment Agency on Monday afternoon (March 5th) after forecasters warned of strong winds and heavy rain overnight into Tuesday.
The advisory was issued for the strip of Bristol Channel coast extending from Porlock to Avonmouth. While Burnham-On-Sea is included within the area, a specific warning for the town was not issued.
It came after Met Office predictions of 60mph winds and several inches of rain overnight.
High tide in Burnham, which was at 8.10pm on Monday, passed without any problems. The next high tide is at 8.18am on Tuesday morning.
