Brean holiday park anglers reel in £1,000 for Alzheimer’s Society

A charity fishing match at a Brean holiday park has raised £1,000 for The Alzheimer’s Society.

Northam Farm holiday park’s charity fishing match is held every summer at this time of the year.

“All the fishermen pay £5 for their peg and then the rest of the money came from the raffle with all the prizes donated, some from tackle shops from as far afield as Bristol,” said a spokesperson.

“The money has been handed over to the charity at a special presentation, led by Dave Carroll on behalf of Northam Farm with Alan Richardson, the charity’s representative.”

“Bob and Linda White from Northam Farm Premier Shop were also there – they kindly provided the prizes for the winning weight of fish in the form of a hamper.”

The winners were 1st Mr Jones with 25lb 4ozs, 2nd Mr Bush 24lb 10ozs and 3rd Mr Purchase 21il 6ozs.
