A special platform has been built on Burnham-On-Sea’s jetty to fire thousands of fireworks into the sky when the town’s annual seafront fireworks display is held tonight Sunday (November 4th).
Starting at 6.30pm, the 20-minute display will be accompanied by a line-up of stirring hit music tracks from the past few decades.
The fireworks will be launched from a specially-made platform on the jetty, as pictured below, with the outgoing tide nearby.
The weather forecast for tonight’s display shows there is a 60% chance of light rain showers and a gentle breeze from the south east.
Skyburst, who are running the display, say it will be a “special” display with a wide range of dazzling fireworks set to be fired into the night sky.
The event, which is always held on the night before the Burnham-On-Sea Carnival, is overseen by Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Town Council. Spectators will be encouraged to give donations to the Rotary Club charity collectors.
Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge’s Mayor, Cllr Bill Hancock, will announce the countdown to the display starting at 6.30pm.
The public viewing area will be from The Esplanade, with the beach forming part of the exclusion zone.
However, this may have to be extended, as in previous years, depending on wind strength and direction.
