Burnham-On-Sea seafront fireworks sees £2,400 collected for charity

-

A total of £2,400 was collected for local charities during last Sunday night’s seafront fireworks display in Burnham-On-Sea.

Burnham-On-Sea Rotary Club, the official collector at the event, says it is grateful to all those who dug deep to donate.

The club’s President David Underwood told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “£2,400 was collected from a great number of spectators. This amount, less £96 expenses, will be shared, as usual, on a 60/40 basis between the Rotary Club and Burnham & Highbridge Town Council, to support their respective local charities.”

He added: “We are most grateful for the generosity of spectators and to all our collectors, especially the army cadets, who assisted us on the evening, and to BoS Hair, who acted as a base for our collectors.”
