Burnham-On-Sea Town Council’s Charitable Fund benefits from fireworks

-

Burnham-On-Sea Town Council was presented with a cheque for almost £1,200 on Monday night (Nov 20th) following a successful charity collection during the recent seafront fireworks display.

Burnham Rotary Club was the official charity collector at the display on November 5th, which attracted big crowds and raised an impressive total of £2,978.91.

“As usual, a proportion of this is passed to the Town Council for its charitable fund and the balance is distributed by the Rotary Club to local charities and good causes,” explained the Rotary Club’s George Moon.

As pictured above, a cheque for £1,191.56 was handed to Burnham’s Mayor Cllr Eric Gill and town councillor Neville Jones by the Rotary Club’s Dennis Davey. The money will be directed towards charitable groups in the area over the coming year.

Mr Moon added: “The Club is delighted to take part in this event and would like to thank all who came and showed their enjoyment by giving so generously on the night.”
