Police appeal for witnesses to ‘deliberate’ blaze in Highbridge

-

Police have appealed for witnesses after a vehicle was deliberately set on fire in Highbridge early on Saturday morning (August 24th).

One fire crew from Burnham-On-Sea was sent to Smith Way at 4.08am following a call from the police that a car was well alight.

“The crew extinguished the fire, which had been started deliberately, using two hose reel jets,” a fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“75% of the car and approximately five metres of hedgerow were severely damaged by fire.”

Duty of care was left with the police, who have appealed for witnesses. Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
