Burnham-On-Sea fire crews tackle second blaze at Puriton farm

-

Burnham-On-Sea fire crews were called to tackle a deliberate blaze at a farm in Puriton on Thursday morning (March 20th) for the second time in a week.

Fire crews from Burnham, Street and Bridgwater rushed to Down End Farm in the village at 3.48am after several calls from the public reporting a building on fire.

“Fire crews were mobilised to the incident and on arrival the roof of the property was found to be well alight and with possible persons reported as there had been reports of squatters in the premises,” a fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

The fire was brought under control at 4.53am by six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus, the use of one main water jet plus two further hose reel jets.

The property was thoroughly checked by the crews and there were no persons within in the building. The cause of the fire was deliberate.

Fire crews were sent to the same farm last Sunday morning to tackle a deliberate blaze.
