These were the dramatic scenes outside a Burnham-On-Sea pub late last night (Sunday, May 6th) when firefighters were called to a blazing car.
A Honda was engulfed in flames after developing an electrical fault outside the Dunstan House pub in Love Lane at 11.30pm, as pictured here.
Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus used water jets to extinguish the blazing vehicle.
The car’s owner, who asked not to be named, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was devastating to see the car burst into flames so quickly.”
“I’d run out of oil and had pulled over. It was smoking, but I didn’t think the car would go up in flames. It is badly damaged, but I am just relieved that no-one was hurt.”
A fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “At 11.56pm the vehicle had been extinguished and the police were in attendance. The cause is thought to be accidental due to an electrical fault.”
