Burnham-On-Sea firefighters were called to tackle a blaze at a home in West Huntspill early this morning (Wednesday, November 30th).
Crews rushed to the smoke- filled property in Main Road, West Huntspill at 12:32am, where they used breathing apparatus to determine the cause of the smoke.
“After investigation, they found a small fire in the ground floor of the property which they extinguished using a hose reel jet,” a fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“The cause of the fire is still under investigation, which resulted in very slight damage to the ground floor of the property by smoke and fire.”
He added that smoke detectors were fitted in the property but they did not activate due to having their batteries removed.
