These were the scenes in Highbridge on Friday evening (April 25th) when Burnham-On-Sea fire crews tackled a third blaze at the badly-damaged former Highbridge Hotel.
Two fire engines from Burnham were called back to the hotel at 6.41pm after the fire service received a report of smoke emerging from the ground floor of the property.
“Upon arrival, fire crews liaised with police on the scene, who confirmed that there were no persons within the hotel,” a fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“Crews confirmed that a small fire in a burning beam had re-ignited and crews used ceiling hooks to remove part of the ceiling, and extinguish the fire using one hose reel jet.”
A massive fire swept through the property on Tuesday, destroying a large section of the building. It came after fire crews had also tackled a small fire at the site last Saturday.
At present still no fire investigation has taken place, due to the stability of the structure.
