Busy week for Burnham-On-Sea fire crews after multiple incidents

Burnham-On-Sea firefighters have been called to more than six incidents during a busy few days.

On Thursday (April 11th), Burnham fire crews were called to two sheds on fire at Worthy Crescent in Lympsham at just after 5pm. Crews extinguished the fire using two hose reel jets.

On Wednesday, the Burnham fire crews helped to tackle a major thatch roof blaze at a pub in West Coker where they joined 15 fire appliances battling the blaze. A hose layer and a welfare unit from Burnham attended.

Firefighters were also called to a bonfire out of control in Brent Street, Brent Knoll, on Wednesday afternoon which was extinguished by one crew from Burnham.

A seagull was also rescued by the town fire crew on Wednesday morning in Burnham’s Regent Street, as featured here.

And on Tuesday afternoon, a car blaze was extinguished at junction 23 of the M5 at Dunball. Breathing apparatus and a compressed air foam jet was used to extinguish the fire.
