Burnham concert raises hundreds of pounds for Brean blaze couple

-

A concert held in Burnham-On-Sea on Saturday night (December 6th) raised hundreds of pounds for a Brean couple who have been left homeless after a devastating fire.

The Railway Inn on Burnham’s High Street held the Blues Brothers Reloaded gig, pictured here, to raise money for Ron Sharrard, 58, and Angela Davies, 50, who are getting married later this month.

Danny Pearce, a friend of the couple and landlord of The Railway pub, told Burnham-On-Sea.com the money raised would go towards the couple’s honeymoon: “We raised almost £500, which we’re all delighted with. The event went extremely well and the band were simply fantastic.”

“All we need now is a further £150 to buy Ron and Angela a two week honeymoon in Tenerife.”

“Any further donations can be dropped in to us at the Railway.”

Burnham-On-Sea.com broke the news last month that the couple’s Brean chalet had been reduced to ashes and their two dogs had died.

Despite the blaze, the couple plan to marry at St Bridget’s Church in Brean on Monday December 22nd followed by a reception at nearby Krackers pub.

The couple appeared on BBC Points West last Tuesday, where they thanked local people for their support.
