Burnham-On-Sea firefighters were called to Cheddar on Thursday afternoon to tackle a property blaze.
Crews were called to Wedmore Road in Cheddar just after 2.30pm where smoke had been seen billowing out of the house.
“Fire appliances from Cheddar, Wells and Burnham-On-Sea were mobilised to this incident,” said a spokesman.
“On arrival, crews confirmed smoke was issuing from the first floor. Fire crews got to work to extinguish the fire using two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, one safety jet and a thermal imaging camera.”
“The fire caused eighty percent damage to the bedroom and fifty percent smoke damage to the first floor.”
